Cardiff LiquidOffice™ to Enable Medical Group Insurance Services to Serve Employers and Insurance Companies Simultaneously Via Electronic Forms Management System

Support of open standards will allow DoxTek, a Cardiff-certified channel partner, to leverage MGIS' existing Web infrastructure and automate forms including direct deposit, enrollment and insurance claim forms

San Diego - 2002-06-06 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, today announced that Medical Group Insurance Services, Inc. (MGIS) has selected its LiquidOffice eForm Management System to serve its employers and insurance companies simultaneously via an electronic forms management system. Cardiff's support of open standards will allow DoxTek, Inc., a Cardiff-certified channel partner, to leverage MGIS' existing Web infrastructure and automate forms including direct deposit, enrollment and insurance claims forms. MGIS is a leading U.S. provider of insurance products and services.

Using LiquidOffice, MGIS will design, publish and manage a variety of internal and external applications and forms, including insurance applications, claim forms, underwriting submissions and requests for quotes, in both PDF and HTML formats that will replace the static PDFs or paper forms currently employed. These forms will be integrated into MGIS' own proprietary systems, ultimately creating a completely unique experience for each customer.

Customers will access their unique set of forms through a proprietary Web portal, which itself will be customized to each employer. The "unique set" is a function of rules set forth by each employer and the associated insurance carriers. These forms can be accessed, completed, submitted, reviewed, routed and approved using a standard Web browser. LiquidOffice will also allow for automated data validation, easy attachment management and workflow capabilities, with some forms routed straight to data tables and others routed to internal users of LiquidOffice for review and acceptance or rejection.

"By integrating LiquidOffice into our portal strategies, we will be able to create an online forms setting that will meet all of the criteria demanded both by our customers and the insurance carriers," said Dan Brunken, chief technical officer for MGIS. "We feel an XML-based e-form management system will not only make the forms process easier for our customers, it will allow us the flexibility necessary to keep up with the ever changing area of insurance administration."

LiquidOffice allows organizations to design once and publish in many different formats based on open standards. Unlike client-server products that require proprietary plug-ins for form presentation, LiquidOffice uses universally accepted Web clients for form fill and routing. Multiple format publishing gives users the flexibility to choose the format that will work best for them, depending on their preference or systems configuration. LiquidOffice also adds automated data validation, attachments and routing capabilities to public-facing HTML and PDF forms. Benefits experienced by organizations migrating to LiquidOffice include streamlining internal operational processes; accelerating delivery of data and documents to backend systems; reducing administrative costs; and eliminating data errors with business rules processing.

"DoxTek is committed to providing only best-of-breed products and technology to our clients," said Andrew Thompson, vice president of consulting at DoxTek. "We recommended the LiquidOffice system to MGIS because we are confident its unmatched scalability, versatility and price/performance features will meet their needs today as well as in the future."

Other solutions provided by DoxTek include hardware and software technologies from industry leaders such as OTG, Kodak, Canon, Kofax, Panasonic and Fujitsu.

LiquidOffice provides users with secure and private access to online forms through standard Web browsers - without proprietary plug-ins. Better still, LiquidOffice includes a turnkey eForm repository and advanced Web services for routing, tracking, approval and processing within a single, integrated solution. LiquidOffice Form Designer also includes intuitive point-and-click controls for setting the attributes for database-driven pull-down menus, AutoFill fields, user profile fields, electronic signatures and other "smart form" settings.
