Cardiff Announces LiquidOffice™ eForms Support for Macromedia Flash MX
Cardiff to deliver more dynamic, media-rich eForms to more than 436 million Macromedia Flash users on both desktop and handheld Web platforms
San Diego - 2002-05-17 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, today announced the intent to develop dynamic LiquidOffice eForm support for Macromedia Flash. With more than 436 million Web-enabled desktops worldwide, Macromedia Flash Player provides broad reach and media-rich capabilities for unmatched delivery of public-facing eForms.
As organizations realize the tremendous speed, accuracy and cost savings associated with the use of forms driven process automation, Cardiff has taken another market-leading step to maximizing the reach and accessibility of its LiquidOffice eForms solution by adding support for Macromedia Flash. Macromedia Flash support will be offered in addition to Cardiff's support for HTML, XForms and PDF eForms - providing businesses the expanded ability to convert, create and deploy eForms in the most widely used Web-based formats available today.
"Proliferating eForm use and adoption means embracing formats that enable wide reach along with a rich presentation that allows all users to access, fill-in and submit online forms," said Dennis Clerke, Cardiff president and CEO. "Because of the very small footprint and transparent installation capability of the Macromedia Flash Player, it's the most widely accepted rich-media presentation format on the market encompassing more than 98 percent of the world's Internet-enabled computers."
The dynamic presentation capabilities of Macromedia Flash, combined with LiquidOffice Public Access Server, is the ideal solution for public facing industries such as hospitality, services and retail. For example, a travel agency can develop an interactive online form for user-enabled travel planning. When the user's desktop cursor selects fields on a travel request form, Macromedia Flash content automatically presents the user with a visual tour of each lodging choice, making it easy and impactful to the user. Business users behind the firewall can also benefit by embedding audio and video guides and instructions into business forms that automatically guide the user through the entire process, reducing instruction time and errors.
"Cardiff's leadership role in automating business processes for documents and forms from paper or online sources is already driving broad market acceptance," said David Mendels, senior vice president at Macromedia. "The combination of Macromedia Flash and the new Macromedia Flash Remoting with Cardiff eForms solutions will enable the delivery of a highly dynamic customer experience with powerful form management and automated information routing throughout any business for approval, tracking and archiving."
"Adding Flash to the Cardiff lineup allows customers to utilize all the leading Web formats and enable them to interoperate," said Steve Weissman, president of research firm Kinetic Information. "It also further demonstrates Cardiff's commitment to enabling business process automation both on paper and online."
Cardiff will be demonstrating the Macromedia Flash eForm integration for Cardiff LiquidOffice at the BFMA tradeshow in Baltimore, MD on May 20-23, 2002. General availability of Macromedia Flash support within LiquidOffice is expected in the fouth quarter of 2002.
