Autonomy Announces New OEM Partnership with FatWire
FatWire to embed Autonomy's Infrastructure Technology into Web Application Assembly System
San Francisco, CA. MAY 1, 2002 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU.; Nasdaq Europe: AUTN), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced a new OEM partnership with FatWire, a leader in dynamic content management and developer of the powerful Web application assembly system UpdateEngine6 (UE6).
FatWire has licensed Autonomy's advanced technology for its flagship product UpdateEngine, to deliver a fully integrated categorization and retrieval solution into its content management software. Autonomy's technology will provide advanced site retrieval functionality throughout UpdateEngine powered sites, enabling customers to index and retrieve content, and enhancing the timeliness and quality of these functions.
"This relationship with Autonomy will add to FatWire's existing strength in this area," said Mark Fasciano, CEO of FatWire. "Autonomy's categorization, combined with UE6's ease of use, scalability and flexibility, will provide our clients with an enhanced enterprise level content management solution."
Mike Lynch, CEO and founder of Autonomy today commented, "More and more software companies are realizing the benefits of incorporating Autonomy's unmatched automation of operations into the next generation of their technologies. Autonomy is delighted to announce FatWire as an exciting new OEM partner in the area of content management.'
Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of the content. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to analyze text and voice (in any language) and identify and rank the main concepts within it. It then automatically categorizes, links, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
