Verity chosen by Linklaters for enterprise-wide implementation

SUNNYVALE, CA. - 2002-04-26 - Verity, the leading provider of infrastructure software for business portals, announces that Linklaters, one of the world's leading international law firms, has chosen Verity K2 Enterprise (K2E) for its strategic search engine. K2E will enable Linklaters employees to access important legal information quickly and efficiently from a range of databases.

With over 460 partners and 2,000 lawyers, and 27 offices in all of the major business and financial centres, Linklaters advises the world's leading companies, financial institutions and governments on their most challenging deals and assignments. The firm is renowned for its distinctive combination of technical skill, commercial experience and outstanding service. Linklaters is using Verity's technology in an enterprise-wide implementation, accessible via the company intranet.

Linklaters recognised the need for a search technology to provide quick global access to information held in a variety of systems. It looked at ten vendors and had a large list of criteria for assessing the software. Verity was chosen because of its strong integration capabilities with Linklaters' existing technical infrastructure, including Documentum, Outlook and a number of database systems.

Simon Thompson, Director of Information Systems and Strategy at Linklaters, says: "We examined the marketplace and found that Verity met our functional and technical requirements. It is scalable, robust and versatile and the strongest technical fit with our architecture."

Simon Atkinson, managing director of Verity GB Ltd, says: "Lawyers need access to case histories, legal texts and client documentation in order to make the most appropriate decisions on current cases. By choosing Verity, Linklaters is taking advantage of its most valuable and competitive asset - its employees' knowledge."
