NASCAR.com and Virage Team Up to Provide Racing Fans with Searchable Video Clips of NASCAR Events

SAN MATEO, Calif. - March 4, 2002 - Turner Sports Interactive and Virage, Inc. [NASDAQ: VRGE] announced today a two-year agreement to bring racing video coverage to NASCAR.com. Virage is a leading provider of video and rich-media communications software.

As part of the agreement, Virage will develop and host NASCAR.com's event video content, allowing NASCAR.com users the ability to view and sort clips of some of their favorite drivers. This product will be available to users and fans throughout the NASCAR season.

"NASCAR.com is constantly working to improve our content, giving fans the most out of their Internet experience," said Drew Reifenberger, executive vice president and general manager for Turner Sports Interactive and NASCAR.com. "Virage is helping to expand our customer experience by bringing event highlights and clips to the millions of NASCAR.com users."

NASCAR.com's site will use the Virage SmartEncode™ process to pull time-coded information from various sources. This information is then translated into searchable clips, allowing fans to find exactly what they're interested in seeing. Fans will be able to search for any video clip including those of some of their favorite drivers, pit stops and flags, lead changes and more.

"Virage is thrilled to be working with NASCAR.com to provide this service to their fans," said Dave Girouard, senior vice president of marketing and corporate strategy at Virage. "We're happy to help NASCAR.com bring exciting new features and capabilities to race fans everywhere. We bring a wealth of experience from our work on a variety of other sports-related sites and look forward to a fun and innovative partnership with NASCAR.com."

Turner Sports Interactive acquired all of NASCAR's Internet rights in October 2000 and became the exclusive producer of NASCAR.com in January 2001. Turner Sports Interactive bases its NASCAR.com staff in Atlanta, with additional personnel in Charlotte and Daytona and at the tracks, giving them the ability to break news stories on-site around the clock. NASCAR.com also provides users with some of the industry's best information resources through AOL and CNN/Sports Illustrated.
