Cardiff Introduces TELEform® v8.0; A Complete Forms and Document Capture Solution; Includes Remote Capabilities and Tight Integration with LiquidOffice™

Powerful new features include near-perfect OCR recognition, centralized system access, enhanced security, robust administrative tools and remote capture, design and verification features; LiquidOffice connectivity enables paper to seamlessly initiate Web-based business transactions

Brentford, Middlesex - 2002-03-04 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, today introduced TELEform v8.0, which offers leading-edge features that enable organizations to remotely capture and process any type of forms or documents to a central server thereby linking the paper world with the Web and legacy systems. The new offering will be available March 15, 2002.

TELEform v8.0 offers organizations powerful new features including RecoFlex® for near-perfect OCR recognition, centralized system access, enhanced security, robust administrative tools and remote capture. A new Connect Agent to Cardiff LiquidOffice enables TELEform v8.0 to initiate an eform process. The LiquidOffice Connect Agent applies processes to the electronic forms for routing, tracking and approval, to extend the business-process automation lifecycle for maximum efficiency.

"We believe the inclusion of the flexible and open RecoFlex data capture engine within TELEform v8.0 will allow Apperson to deliver more accurate results and process larger volumes of paper," said Bruce Genger of Apperson, Inc., a Cardiff reseller partner. "The improvements in recognition will bring tangible savings to our customers."

Using TELEform v8.0, an organization can launch electronic routing of forms and documents through the LiquidOffice eForm Management system. Forms that require exception handling can be routed directly to an employee's e-mail Inbox for quick turn around back to TELEform v8.0. Employment applications can be automatically screened with qualified applications being automatically routed to a hiring manager's e-mail account.

"TELEform v8.0 is truly designed to accelerate the delivery of business-critical data from forms and documents where every minute of productivity counts," said Dennis Clerke, Cardiff president and CEO. "The powerful combination of features in TELEform v8.0 gives Cardiff the most complete offering for the automation of high-volume document capture and forms processing"

A centralized server in TELEform v8.0 will allow companies to manage form folders and form templates for individual departments or groups, maintaining security control and eliminating time spent searching through long lists of files. New batch administration features, such as Form Reverification, also speed processing, enabling operators to quickly move from one document to another, make corrections at any stage, re-route problem documents and reduce time and labor resources spent fixing errors in post-commitment stages.

Remote Capture

The Remote Capture Option gives organizations the capability to scan forms and documents from anywhere in the world using remote scan stations. Forms can be electronically transmitted via the Web to a centralized TELEform Enterprise server for further processing, increasing flexibility and boosting processing volumes while streamlining operations. Organizations running Citrix can also design and verify forms remotely.

The Remote Capture Option gives organizations the power and flexibility to capture and process forms and documents as labor markets and volume requirements change. Multi-site and global enterprises can also leverage Remote Capture stations to streamline batch-scanning operations at regional sites, eliminating associated centralized processing costs and mail delivery times.

RecoFlex - Near Perfect Recognition

Another new productivity enhancement in TELEform v8.0 is RecoFlex, featuring near-perfect OCR recognition. RecoFlex combines multiple recognition engines and applies sophisticated voting algorithms to deliver more accurate results, process larger volumes of paper and increase productivity while simultaneously reducing the time in verification mode by 60 percent. RecoFlex includes full-page OCR enabling document export to PDF Image+Text format for sophisticated search and retrieval capabilities.

Recognition settings during field set-up allow customers to customize their system for speed or accuracy while a RecoFlex API also allows customers the flexibility to install their own special character recognition engines.

Availability and Pricing

TELEform v8.0 will be available March 15, 2002 in two versions: TELEform Elite, a single workstation system for mid-level forms processing applications priced at $6,000 while TELEform Enterprise, a production-level, scalable, remote data and document capture and processing system, starting at $11,500. Both versions of TELEform v8.0 can be extended with the addition of the eForm Option for $5,000.
