Cardiff Announces Integrated Platform For Total Process-Automation

Working together, Cardiff TELEform®, LiquidOffice™ and LiquidPDF™ leverage XML to automate capturing, managing and responding to forms and documents in government and corporate organizations

San Diego and Brentford, Middlesex - 2002-03-04 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, today announced the first integrated process-automation platform to support all phases of forms and document transactions - from capture to management and responses - by leveraging XML connectivity.

Cardiff's process automation products, TELEform, LiquidOffice and LiquidPDF, work together to enable the implementation of total process automation applications across any enterprise. Examples of complete process automation include the collection, processing and response delivery of government permits, loan applications and product information requests - from either paper or on-line sources.

"Many in the market have approached process automation as an exercise in technology development, and the result so far has resulted in complex technical schemes," said Steve Weissman, president of consulting firm Kinetic Information. "But what customers really want is functional interoperability, not necessarily programmatic integration. Cardiff understands this distinction well and has done an excellent job of tying together both paper and electronic forms, and leveraging the Web for connectivity and delivery."

TELEform replaces manual data entry and document indexing using scan/Fax input devices, recognition and business rules to automate processing of paper forms and documents. LiquidOffice, an XML-Based eForm Management System, enables easy creation, conversion and management of electronic forms in a Web-based automated system. LiquidPDF completes the business process transaction lifecycle by enabling businesses to automatically respond to requests with customized, high fidelity documents - sent via e-mail, print or Fax.

LiquidPDF repurposes existing PDF documents with variable assembly techniques and publishing rules to automatically create fillable and sign-able form and document sets.

"Cardiff has an intimate understanding of historic approaches. Over 20,000 of our customers replaced manual processes with automated systems," said Dennis Clerke, Cardiff president and CEO. "Our total process automation approach binds together each step of the automation process, allowing organizations to pull even more costs out of their manual processes."

Automate Data Collection

With TELEform, an organization can automate the capturing of data from HTML and PDF eForms as well as paper forms and documents. TELEform converts paper into digital information and uses database look-ups and business rules to validate incoming information. Confirmed information can be passed directly to XML and database applications, which is where traditional approaches stop. Linking TELEform to LiquidOffice allows paper to initiate subsequent business processes within the LiquidOffice eForm system.

eForm Process Automation

LiquidOffice is a complete Web-based eForm and document process automation platform that provides intelligent form creation and workflow capability to manage and route documents to workers for review and approval. The system supports document attachments and the automation of each user driven activity throughout the organization. Along the way, LiquidOffice records and audits the trail of each completed activity. If a document transaction is approved, the LiquidOffice system can generate XML document assembly instructions that are used by LiquidPDF to create personalized document sets.

Create Instant Responses

XML-driven PDF document assembly uses transaction data and business rules to dynamically assemble pages to a custom document set, including variable graphics, text, dynamic table of contents and bar codes. LiquidPDF can deliver a customized PDF document set using e-mail, the Web, Fax or print services.
