State of North Dakota Selects Cardiff's MediClaim to Automate Medicaid Transactions and Accelerate Data Processing
Will process HCFA-1500 and UB-92 forms to help state meet legislated requirements and reduce healthcare administration costs
San Diego - 2002-01-31 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leader in information capture and data collection solutions, today announced that the state of North Dakota has chosen MediClaim™ to automate the collection and processing of the state's Medicaid forms and transactions.
The MediClaim solution will be deployed to automatically process HCFA-1500 (Health Care Finance Administration) forms, and UB-92 forms by the North Dakota Department of Human Services. MediClaim increases throughput by up to 98 percent per form and reduces processing costs up to 90 percent, also eliminating form sorting through automatic form identification. The solution's rapid deployment and low cost of ownership results in a return-on-investment within months.
In addition to MediClaim and TELEform, North Dakota has also invested in Cardiff's LiquidOffice™, which combines intelligent HTML and PDF eForms, enabling organizations to automatically route, approve and process online forms, as well as HTML+Forms and PDF+Forms, connecting standard Web forms to business processing rules and databases.
"Cardiff MediClaim was selected based on previous experience with other Cardiff products," said Bill Roach, EDMS Coordinator for the North Dakota Information Technology Department. "We installed TELEform last year for processing tax forms in the Office of the Tax Commissioner. The technology worked very well and the support has been excellent. We believe that using MediClaim will significantly reduce our manual data entry requirements, speed payments to providers and improve our service to the citizens of North Dakota."
"We are pleased to continue our business relationship with the state of North Dakota, which has already demonstrated tangible results using TELEform and LiquidOffice," said Dennis Clerke, president and CEO of Cardiff. "MediClaim was designed with these types of government applications in mind, helping to improve accuracy and response time to the public, resulting in a more efficiently run government and health care system."
MediClaim also allows for the validation of proper coding of diagnoses and procedures, thereby decreasing the rate of erroneously paid dollars to HCFA's Payment Error Prevention Program. According to the U.S. Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General, Medicare made an estimated $40 billion in improper payments in 1998 because erroneously paid dollars usually arise from improper coding of diagnosis and/or procedures.
