Verity to Convene First Annual Worldwide Customer Advisory Board Event
ABB and KPMG among participants to exchange ideas on business strategies and industry trends with Verity's executive management team
SUNNYVALE, CA - 2002-01-16 - Verity, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRTY), a leading provider of infrastructure software that powers enterprise and e-commerce portals as well as e-business applications, today announced that it will hold its first annual Worldwide Customer Advisory Board event (WCAB) from January 21 to January 23, at the Ritz Carlton Resort on Amelia Island, Florida.
Invited members of the inaugural Verity WCAB include ABB, FactSet Research Systems, GSA and KPMG. Attendees from these companies hold a variety of executive and technical positions. Verity senior executives, including Anthony J. Bettencourt, president, Dr. Ashok Chandra, senior vice president of development and new business activities and Dr. Prabhakar Raghavan, vice president and chief technology officer, will exchange ideas on business strategies and industry trends with these customers.
Verity develops advanced portal infrastructure software that allows users to organize, discover and connect to vast amount of information that resides within an enterprise or on an e-commerce site. Verity has invited customers with diverse areas of expertise to address the following topics:
▪ Discuss customer business strategies and industry trends
▪ Gather feedback about Verity's strategic direction and how that direction supports customers' future needs

Participants will also discuss new implementations of Social Networks, a Verity personalization feature introduced in the new Verity® K2 Enterprise software, that identifies subject "experts" within an enterprise and automatically links users to the experts while recommending documents based on the users' behavior or search criteria.
