Cardiff Software Ships LiquidOffice™ 2.0; Gains Momentum As The eForm Standard For Government, Business and Education

Recognized as a "Best of Comdex" finalist; unique features include XML Virtual Submit,™ which connects eForms to mobile devices; HTML workflow enables public- and citizen-facing eForm applications

San Diego - 2001-12-06 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading supplier of XML-based eBusiness and eGovernment automation solutions, today announced the immediate availability of its LiquidOffice eForm Management System 2.0. A "Best of COMDEX" finalist in the "Enterprise Software" category, LiquidOffice is an XML-based "paperless" system that allows organizations to publish, route, approve and process online forms using standard Web browsers.

"The State of California Department of General Services is committed to standards-based products," said Jamie Mangrum, DGS Web and applications operations manager, Office of Technology Resources. "The LiquidOffice system allows us to deploy forms using XML, HTML and Adobe PDF, eliminating the dependency on any plug-ins. This has made it possible for us to deploy a system that can support 12,000 different government contractors."

One of the most anticipated features included with LiquidOffice v2.0 is XML Virtual Submit, which uses a standard XML schema to connect LiquidOffice eForm workflows and form attachments with virtually any external application. The applications include using mobile devices for remote data collection and to initiate eForm workflow submissions. XML Virtual Submit allows organizations to use LiquidOffice as their eForm framework for internal, Web-based and remote forms applications.

"XML Virtual Submit is significant because of the flexibility and ease in which other hardware and software systems can be connected to advanced eForm processing," said analyst Steve Weissman, president of Kinetic Information.

Another key feature of LiquidOffice v2.0 is the HTML Publishing Agent™, which adds support for workflow-enabled HTML eForms. With this new feature, forms created in the LiquidOffice Form Designer can be published into the LiquidOffice Form Server as either Adobe PDF or HTML forms. The HTML Publishing Agent eliminates the need for any additional downloads or plug-ins when delivering eForm applications, including when attachments are required.

LiquidOffice v2.0 also offers seamless enterprise user management through integration with lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) systems, including Microsoft Active Directory Services, Netscape iPlanet Directory Server and Microsoft Exchange Server.

EForm management and automation is a rapidly growing solution area in government, corporate and educational organizations. With more than 350 Value Added Resellers worldwide, Cardiff is able to support a wide range of customers over a large geographical area.

According to Allan Rogers, president of Document Technologies, a value-added reseller of LiquidOffice, "We have gained a thorough knowledge of eForm and automated form requirements particular to the government sector. Cardiff's LiquidOffice product clearly and completely addresses those sometimes-unique requirements with a solution, which is scalable to the largest form's inventory."
