Verity and HAHT Commerce Team to Help Manufacturers Organize And Retrieve Online Content Quickly and Efficiently

Verity K2 Developer to Accelerate and Improve Information Retrieval For HAHT Commerce Suite 7.0 Customers

SUNNYVALE, CA. - 2001-11-12 - Manufacturers needing to organize and retrieve vast amounts of content for demand chain management processes will have an advanced solution at their disposal. Verity, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRTY), a leading provider of infrastructure software that powers enterprise and e-commerce portals as well as e-business applications, today an-nounced that HAHT Commerce, Inc. will integrate Verity K2 Developer into HAHT's new Suite 7.0 Demand Chain Management solution. Under the agreement, Verity will deliver advanced information retrieval capabilities to HAHT Commerce's customers.

"The Verity K2 Developer software has a powerful combination of flexible information retrieval capabilities and accurate search results," said Rowland Archer, chief technology officer of HAHT Commerce, Inc. "Our large, global manufacturing customers have product information residing in varying repositories, and they must be able to make it accessible to their customers and partners quickly and easily. The Verity K2 Developer is a proven solution for complex information retrieval chal-lenges, and we think our customers will benefit from the combined power of HAHT and Verity."

The HAHT Commerce Suite 7.0 enables manufacturers to coordinate and manage customer-facing business processes across multiple channels. Manufacturers can integrate, analyze and improve business processes among channel partners, distributors and customers, which can lead to dramatically increased revenue opportunities and reduced marketing, sales and service costs. Verity K2 Developer will deliver quick and accurate search results within HAHT Commerce's Suite 7.0. HAHT's thermoplastic enclosure manufacturing customers, for example, will no longer have to sift through extraneous information about wire devices, conduit enclosures and pipe fittings. Verity K2 Developer will instead direct users to the most practical results relating to their specific thermo-plastics needs.

"HAHT Suite 7.0 users will benefit from Verity's experience in helping businesses deliver information in ways that make sense to their employees and customers," said Adina Crossley, director of North America partner programs for Verity. "Users are often frustrated and slowed by search results that yield too much in-formation or irrelevant ones. Verity K2 Developer will help HAHT customers alleviate this frustration by delivering accurate results based upon fuzzy search and industry-specific terminology."

Verity K2 Developer delivers multi-platform compatibility as well as support for content created in 26 languages. The Verity software architecture is highly scalable and can accommodate large numbers of simultaneous users with little or no performance degradation. The scalable architecture maintains the accuracy of search results even in environments with rapid content changes. In addition, Verity K2 Developer's fault-tolerant architecture means that users need not suffer from servers that are down, as queries and returns will automatically be rerouted through alternate servers in the event one is out of operation.
