Computer Associates Licenses Autonomy's Infrastructure Software For Automated Information Integration
San Francisco-October 23, 2001-Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; Nasdaq Europe: AUTN; LSE: AU.), a leading provider of infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced an OEM licensing agreement with Computer Associates International Inc. (NYSE: CA), the world's leading provider of eBusiness management solutions. Under this agreement, Computer Associates has licensed Autonomy's technology for future products.
According to Autonomy CEO and founder Mike Lynch, Autonomy's OEM program has expanded its global reach with the addition of a key new partner, Computer Associates. "Computer Associates provides interactive Web access for every kind of information delivery challenge," said Lynch. "We are very pleased to be working with such a world-renown provider of e-business solutions."
Shari Shore, brand manager, Computer Associates added that Autonomy's unique infrastructure technology provides a valuable component to enterprise applications. "E-business relies on the efficient flow of information," said Shore. "Autonomy's software automates the integration of unstructured information from the many different content sources that today's business world needs."
At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to analyze text and voice (in any language) and identify and rank the main concepts within it. It can then automatically categorize, link, personalize and deliver that information. The technology is used to automate these operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management and e-business applications.
