Cap Gemini Ernst And Young Markets Autonomy's Technology In New Systems Integration Partnership

CGEY to support systems integration of Autonomy's solutions in Europe

CAMBRIDGE, England, 30 August 2001 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU.; Nasdaq Europe: AUTN), a leading provider of infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced a new partnership with Cap Gemini Ernst and Young (CGEY), one of the largest management and IT consulting firms in the world, in the Netherlands. Under the terms of the agreement, CGEY will become an Autonomy systems integrator (SI) and will be able to sell Autonomy's technology into diverse markets.

A team of Autonomy-trained technical specialists is already operational at CGEY; they will form the foundations of an Autonomy Competency Cluster, a new group designed to make the most of the technology's ability to be deployed very rapidly, whatever the application or sector. CGEY has already successfully deployed Autonomy's technology in the Netherlands government sector and a project is currently ongoing in Germany in the insurance sector.

Richard Gaunt, co-founder of Autonomy, said: "Autonomy's technology enables businesses to make huge savings by automating many of the processes associated with managing information. CGEY's expertise in dealing with clients who have needs in precisely this area, and the undertaking to actively market Autonomy to these clients and prospects, makes for a very productive strategic partnership which will significantly expand our reach into the upper echelons of European business."

Jeroen Steginga, Documentary Information Management practice manager at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, commented: "Knowledge-intensive organisations and networks of organisations in particular, such as government bodies, insurance companies and publishers, can draw a great deal of benefit from the Autonomy product. Thanks to the system's advanced features, they can save time and money."

At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to analyse text and voice and identify and rank the main concepts within it. It can then automatically categorise, link, personalise and deliver that information. The technology is used to automate these operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management and e-business applications.
