Verity helps UBS Warburg employees access its worldwide knowledge banks

SUNNYVALE, CA - 2001-07-11 - Verity, a leading provider of infrastructure software powering enterprise and e-commerce portals as well as e-business applications, announces that UBS Warburg, a business group of UBS AG, one of the world's leading financial services firms, will use the Verity K2 Software worldwide. Verity will provide the solution, which includes advanced search and intelligent classification of information, connecting the bank's internal and external data repositories and its websites. It will be implemented globally throughout 2001.

Some of the key attractions for using Verity are its scalability and ability to index, categorise and provide search results for large amounts of information from different sources. The Verity K2 Software provides the capability to process terabytes of data from globally distributed databases. Verity can also handle multiple data formats, including .pdf, .txt, Lotus Notes and MS Office files and supports multiple languages.

Verity K2 Software and Documentum 4i eBusiness Platform integrate seamlessly to provide UBS with a comprehensive global information retrieval solution.

"Documentum 4i eBusiness Platform ensures UBS Warburg accuracy and security of valuable, proprietary and voluminous electronic assets in any format, "said Dave De Walt, President and COO of Documentum. "Our joint solution with Verity is the only one that can scale to meet the demands of very large user communities, such as UBS Warburg whose worldwide network of 20,000 users demand quick access to trusted, personalised content assets to help make better business decisions every day."

"As businesses become more global and diverse, the need for robust integrated information retrieval solutions increases," says Simon Atkinson, managing director for Verity GB Ltd. "External and internal information has to be easily and accurately accessible for all employees, in any supported language and location around the clock. With the combination of Verity K2 Software and Documentum 4i eBusiness Platform, UBS Warburg can bank on its knowledge management technology and maximise the potential of its textual assets."
