Verity, Inc. Names Paul H. Cook Corporate Controller
High Tech Financial Manager Strengthens Leadership Team
SUNNYVALE, CA - 2001-06-27 - Verity, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of infrastructure software that powers enterprise and e-commerce portals as well as e-business applications, today announced the appointment of Paul H. Cook, CPA, as its Corporate Controller.
Mr. Cook brings to his position more than a decade's worth of experience managing the financial processes for high technology companies. As Verity's Corporate Controller, Mr. Cook will be responsible for all financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and risk management as well as SEC reporting and treasury operations.
"Verity's financial management capability is enhanced with the addition of Paul Cook to our team," said Todd K. Yamami, Verity's vice president and chief financial officer. "He brings a wealth of experience in dealing with the accounting requirements faced by a software company like Verity." Mr. Cook will report to Mr. Yamami in his new role.
Prior to joining Verity, Mr. Cook served as Corporate Controller for Oblix, Inc., a provider of e-business infrastructure software. Previously, Mr. Cook served in senior financial management positions with Adobe Systems, Dreamworks/PDI and Connectics Corporation. Mr. Cook began his financial management career with Ernst & Young as an audit manager.
Mr. Cook holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting for California State University at Hayward and is a certified public accountant in the State of California.
