Cardiff and QCSI™ Partner to Create aQScan Health Care Claims Processing Solution
Seamless Solution Lowers HCFA and UB-92 Processing Costs and Increases Form Throughput for Health Care Payers
San Diego - 2001-06-12 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leader in forms processing and eBusiness automation solutions, and QCSI™ (Quality Care Solutions Inc.), a provider of enterprise-wide health care payer solutions, today announced a partnership to deliver a customized health care claims processing solution that verifies, edits and converts HCFA and UB-92 forms from paper to electronic data. The new integrated solution, aQScan, was developed by QCSI and tightly integrates Cardiff's MediClaim™ system to its QMACS® advanced payer application, seamlessly submitting converted health care claims to QMACS.
Using aQScan, payers significantly increase the speed and accuracy of optical character recognition (OCR) solutions, and can verify and validate processes with real-time links to QMACS database tables. Once the scanning and OCR process is complete using MediClaim, aQScan imports the claim directly into QMACS for adjudication. In addition, aQScan imports the claim image for reference during customer support calls.
"Using MediClaim information capture product in tandem with QMACS and aQScan provides an ideal claims processing environment," said Dennis Clerke, president and CEO of Cardiff. "aQScan takes the risk out of implementing OCR solutions by significantly reducing the error rate of scanned claims."
"With aQScan, we can offer our clients a complete scanning solution for the paper claims submission process," said Gregory S. Anderson, president and CEO of QCSI. "aQScan provides a robust package for health care payers implementing a scanning solution or integrating the MediClaim and QMACS applications."
The aQScan Process
aQScan works with MediClaim during the validation process to edit and verify scanned claim information. Pop-up windows appear when errors are detected in the scanned data. Once the data is corrected, the "clean claim" is then stored for electronic input to QMACS. Typically, payers will be able to triple the amount of claims entered using aQScan verses manual claims processing. Return on investment (ROI) is realized in less than 12 months based solely on reducing manual data entry costs. Other savings include shortened overall claims processing times, reduced paper storage costs, and more efficient customer service.
