Cardiff LiquidOfficeTM eForm Management System Wins Prestigious "Best of AIIM 2001"
Innovative Web-based eForm system leverages XML, Adobe® PDF and HTML to deliver automated online forms to government, academic and business organizations
San Diego - 2001-06-04 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leader in XML-based eBusiness automation solutions, today announced that its LiquidOffice™ eForm Management System (formerly LiquidForms™) has been recognized as a "Best of AIIM" product at the recent AIIM 2001 eBusiness industry conference held April 30 to May 3 in New York.
"Best of AIIM" awards recognize innovative and revolutionary products that help businesses use automation to reduce costs and increase worker productivity. Using LiquidOffice, workers can access blank HTML and Adobe PDF forms from a centralized Web-based eForm Repository, and can use online routing, tracking, approval, and data processing services to completely eliminate manual processes.
Editors of CMP Media's Transform Magazine selected LiquidOffice after consulting with industry analysts, including Gordy Hoke, James Just and Jim Minihan of IMERGE Consulting; Harvey Spencer of Harvey Spencer Associates; Bruce Silver of Bruce Silver Associates; Dan Elam of eVisoryTM Consulting; Rich Medina and Geoff Blanco of Doculabs; Julie Gable of Gable Consulting; and Richard Fisher of Giga.
Organizations that implement an eForm Management System like LiquidOffice can significantly reduce costs, saving $30 to $150 per form transaction. LiquidOffice overcomes limitations found in pre-Internet eForm technologies by combining the Web with XML, HTML and Adobe portable document format (PDF) standards to put paper forms and the business processes they drive into an automated online system.
"Corporate, academic and government organizations have been stung in the past by proprietary eForm technology, and are demanding the standards-based approach found in LiquidOffice," said Dennis Clerke, co-founder, president and CEO of Cardiff. "The ëBest of AIIM' award offers further support to our innovative approach, and we thank CMP and the industry analysts for this recognition."
Technology Shift to XML and n-Tier eForms
LiquidOffice represents a technology shift in the eForm automation product segment. Where historical client-server eForm approaches rely upon a proprietary form design format, LiquidOffice uses XML, Adobe PDF and HTML standards. As client-server products require proprietary plug-ins and JavaTM filler applets for form presentation, LiquidOffice uses universally accepted Web clients for form fill and routing: Microsoft® Internet ExplorerTM, Netscape NavigatorTM and Adobe Acrobat® 5.0 and Adobe Acrobat ReaderTM. In addition, where historical products have wrapped their legacy products with a proprietary flavor of XML, Cardiff has leveraged its role as a technical editor for the XForms Specification for the World Wide Web Consortium into LiquidOffice.
Pricing and Availability
Cardiff's LiquidForms Designer Trial Edition (TE), a free demo component of the LiquidOffice eForm Management System, has been selected by Adobe Systems to be included with English, Windows-based versions of Adobe Acrobat 5.0 software. The LiquidForms Designer TE is fully functional and operates for 90 days, and includes information on the complete LiquidOffice eForm Management System.
The LiquidOffice eForm Management System will ship in late June and is offered in three configurations: LiquidOffice Workgroup is $15,000 and supports a maximum of 100 users; LiquidOffice Enterprise starts at $45,000 for an unlimited number of users and 100 approver-level accounts; and LiquidOffice eGovernment starts at $55,000 for an unlimited number of users, 100 approver-level accounts, and includes support for public access to online forms using the Web and e-mail.
The commercial version of the LiquidOffice Form Designer will be available at www.Cardiff.com/LiquidOffice in June 2001, for $1,000 per copy.
