Cardiff Software Awards Students for Outstanding Academic Performance

Three students to receive the Joseph C. Larson Entrepreneurial Scholarship based on scholastic performance and drive to succeed

San Diego - 2001-05-16 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leader in forms processing and eBusiness automation solutions, today announced the first set of recipients of the Joseph C. Larson Entrepreneurial Scholarship. Designed to recognize students nationwide with an entrepreneurial spirit, the scholarship provides students with the resources to earn an education and help make their dreams of becoming an entrepreneur a reality. Cardiff will award each student $2,500 towards his or her college education.

The Joseph C. Larson Entrepreneurial Scholarship, named in honor of Cardiff's founder, is awarded annually to a few graduating high school seniors or students who have successfully completed at least two full academic years toward their undergraduate degree at an accredited four-year institution. Each student must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. In addition, applicants must submit a two-page essay explaining how they plan on using their education to further their entrepreneurial goals. Recipients of the scholarships are selected by the Cardiff Scholarship Committee.

This year's scholarship recipients are Durba Mitra and Matthew Kruse of North High School, Fargo, North Dakota, and John Stuart of Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, California.

The San Diego Foundation, which administers the awards on behalf of Cardiff, will present the scholarships at a ceremony on Saturday, May 19 at Point Loma Nazarene University's Crill Performance Hall.

"The goal of this scholarship is to provide students the opportunity to create a promising future," said Dennis Clerke, president and chief executive officer of Cardiff Software. "Cardiff is honored to award scholarships to deserving students who excel in school and posses a true entrepreneurial spirit."
