IDX Systems Corporation Selects Cardiff TELEform® Enterprise To Enable High-Volume Automated Data Capture & Processing Within IDX, IMX Image Xchange™
New IDX product line targeted at helping health care organizations improve overall patient services
San Diego - 2001-02-20 - Cardiff Software, Inc., a leading supplier of forms processing and business automation solutions, and IDX Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: IDXC), a leading full-service provider of health care information technology solutions and radiology information systems, today announced that Cardiff's TELEform Elite and TELEform Enterprise has been integrated into the Automated Data Capture and Processing (ADCaP™) module and the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for IMX Image Xchange™, an integrated document capture and imaging solution offered by IDX.
"This strategic partnership with Cardiff provides a best-of-breed automated data capture and image archival solution for the health care industry," said Tom Cady, managing director of consulting for IDX. "The complete integration between Cardiff and IDX allows users to benefit from one proven solution for information capture and archive, without having to work with disparate groups whose solutions are not tightly integrated."
IMX Image XChange allows health care organizations to apply the benefits of a Web-based information processing and sharing system to their existing processes. By automating the information capture and content management of paper documents, organizations benefit from significant cost savings, increased accuracy of patient information, faster access to data and improved customer service. Through Cardiff's extensible transaction architecture, Image XChange customers can easily add support for XML, eForms and Personalized Interactions through Cardiff HTML+Forms, PDF+Forms and AutoMerge Publisher products.
"This combined solution provides software technologies that automate the manual tasks of capturing data and documents, which results in lower costs associated with paper transactions and improved access to digital information and documents," said Mark Seamans, CTO for Cardiff. "The improved access to data permits faster turnaround times for gathering critical patient information and payment schedules, functions that are vital in today's demanding health care industry."
Selected by more than 20,000 organizations to automate the processing of paper forms and documents, Cardiff TELEform is the most widely used information capture product in the world. TELEform uses sophisticated OCR and recognition capabilities to convert paper into digital information for database, Back Office and XML applications. TELEform also is used to scan paper documents into archive and Web-based content management systems, complete with index and search string information. By using TELEform, organizations save up to 90 percent of the costs associated with manual data entry and paper storage.
"Through the commitment of IDX and Cardiff, the IMX solution offers a truly seamless integration allowing for a quick implementation schedule and minimal transition obstacles," said Jim Ford, manager of programming for IDX. "The initial customer response has been excellent, which further validates our choice of Cardiff as a solutions partner."
