Philips Chooses Autonomy to Power Worldwide E-Business Operations
Autonomy also becomes a Philips "preferred supplier," facilitating future rollouts
CAMBRIDGE, England, 11th January 2001 - Autonomy today announced that Europe's largest electronics company, Philips International BV ("Philips"), has adopted Autonomy's technology to power a global e-commerce initiative across multiple areas. Autonomy will also become a Philips preferred supplier, enabling future rollout of Autonomy across the company.
Dr. Mike Lynch, founder and Group CEO of Autonomy, commented: "This is an excellent development for Autonomy. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to analyse text and voice (in any language) and identify and rank the main concepts within it. It can then automatically categorise, link, personalise and deliver that information. The technology is used to automate these operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management and e-business applications.
