New Cardiff TELEform v7 Available in German, French Local Language Versions

Release includes new Form Designer, adds support for native XML, and color scanners; New form merge and personalized eReply capabilities

San Diego - 2000-12-21 - Cardiff Software, Inc., a leading supplier of forms processing and business automation solutions, today announced the immediate availability of TELEform? v7 German and French local language versions. TELEform v7 is a major upgrade to the world's most popular information capture and processing application. Currently used by more than 20,000 organizations worldwide, including DaimlerChrysler, France Telecom, and Siemens AG, TELEform automates the processing of paper forms and documents into database and Web-based content management systems.

TELEform v7 includes more than 100 new features and enhancements, including improved throughput and performance, a new version of the point-and-click Form Designer, support for color scanners, native XML input and output, as well as support for processing signatures from paper or online forms.

TELEform is the only information capture product to offer production-level processing of both paper forms and documents, with extended support for processing online eForms using the HTML+Forms™ and PDF+Forms™ add-on products. With TELEform v7, Cardiff enters significant new market areas with the addition of AutoMerge Publisher, a new add-on product that implements personalized form merge and personalized eReply applications using print, fax, e-mail and Adobe PDF formats.

"With TELEform v6 we led the European market in delivering a unified platform for processing forms and documents, from paper and the Internet," said Emmanuel de Boucaud, vice president, European Operations of Cardiff Software. "With TELEform v7 our goal is to increase our customer's return on investment through faster implementation and automating every step of the information flow - capture, process and reply."

Rapid Implementation

TELEform is highly regarded for its ease of use and implementation. The latest release delivers new capabilities that allow organizations to implement their projects on time and on budget. New features that add value to TELEform v7 include:

• A new version of Form Designer, a point-and-click application that speeds the implementation of information capture applications by 75 percent when compared to products that are manually configured.

• Searchable online documentation includes searchable Adobe PDF.

• New Scan Station Module - an easy-to-use scanning interface that reduces training requirements.

• Dynamic Barcode Indexing - identifies batches through barcodes, eliminating the need for a physical separator sheet and speeding document processing.

• System security - enables TELEform administrators to control access to projects, modules, logs and more.

• Automatic network image compression - reduces bandwidth requirements and improves performance within network configurations.

• Database utilities - new administrative tools that offer point-and-click optimisation of the TELEform pipeline.

• Connect agent for XML - easy input and export of XML data.

• Enhanced Control Center - a native snap-in for Microsoft Management Console, enables effective Administration of TELEform, supports load-balancing and alert monitoring, and watches for system bottlenecks.

Availability

TELEform v7 is now shipping and available in English, French and German versions. The product is available in desktop and network server versions for mid-level to production-level data and document capture and processing. All versions of TELEform can be extended with the addition of the HTML+Forms™, PDF+Forms™ and AutoMerge Publisher add-on products.
