Viador And Autonomy Announce Automated Portal Solution

E-Businesses Can Now Efficiently Manage Information Through Viador Portal

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - November 21, 2000 - Viador Inc.™ today announced an alliance with Autonomy Corporation plc (NASDAQ: AUTN; EASDAQ: AUTN; LSE: AU.), a global leader in infrastructure software for the Web and the enterprise, to automate management and processing of large quantities of unstructured information within the Viador E-Portal Suite™. Through this continued partnership, the companies will integrate Autonomy's infrastructure technology into Viador's award-winning Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) framework. This integration will allow businesses to automatically categorize, link, personalize and deliver that information through the Viador E-Portal Suite. Viador and Autonomy have already worked together on portals for the Department of Education and the Department of Defense.

"The amount of emails, Web pages, Word documents, presentations and news articles that are generated every day is exploding," said Autonomy CEO Mike Lynch. "The seamless integration of Autonomy's technology into Viador's E-Portal Suite will allow companies and government agencies to deploy an information-rich, easy-to-navigate enterprise information portal that allows them focus on their core business rather than managing this glut of information."

"A key value of an EIP is that it allows personalized access to data and applications, regardless of location," noted Robert Craig, vice president of strategic marketing at Viador. "The combination of Viador's E-Portal Framework™ solution and Autonomy's technology will help employees, partners and customers to process and manage information in an intelligent and efficient way, all from within a secure and scalable enterprise information portal."

Under the terms of the agreement, Viador and Autonomy plan to integrate Autonomy's technology into the Viador E-Portal Suite. The two companies will also cooperate to promote their combined e-business solution through joint marketing activities, such as industry trade shows.

About Autonomy Corporation plc

Autonomy's infrastructure technology enables computers to understand: text, Web pages, e-mails, voice, documents, video and even people. Because of this unique ability, Autonomy's technology automates business operations on unstructured information, such as categorizing, linking, personalizing and delivering operations, which, to date, have been completely manual. Autonomy's technology powers any application dependant upon unstructured information including: e-commerce, customer relationship management, knowledge management, enterprise information portals and online publishing.

Among Autonomy's 390-plus customers are Alcatel, Associated Press, BBC, British Aerospace, Clorox, Reed Elsevier, News Corp., Lucent Technologies, Merrill Lynch, SF Gate, Reuters, Semi-tech, The Royal Mail, TF1, Unilever and the United States Department of Defense. In addition, many of the world's leading software companies license Autonomy's technology to add intelligence to their own products, in areas as diverse as online publishing, knowledge management, email routing and document management. These include Vignette, Sybase, Corechange, Brio, Delano, Epiphany, Filenet, Hyperwave, Insight, Intranet Solutions, Intraspect, KnowledgeTrack, Nexor, Novient and OpenMarket.

Autonomy was founded in 1996 and has offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, New York and Washington, D.C. in the United States, as well as offices through Europe, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Cambridge, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Oslo, and Sydney. In July 1998, the company went public on the EASDAQ exchange (EASDAQ:AUTN). Autonomy floated on The Nasdaq National Market (NASDAQ: AUTN) in May 2000, and on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: AU.) in November 2000.
