Verity Names Charu Rudrakshi as Vice President of Engineering, Verity Sunnyvale
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2000-11-13 - Verity, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRTY), a leading provider of infrastructure software that powers enterprise and e-commerce portals as well as e-business applications, today announced the appointment of Charu Rudrakshi as vice president of engineering, Verity Sunnyvale. Rudrakshi most recently served as the vice president of engineering for BizRate.com. He reports to Ashok Chandra, senior vice president of development and new business activities, and is responsible for strategic project planning and development, management of engineering operations, and the direction of Verity's engineering group in Sunnyvale, California.

Charu Rudrakshi has a strong software development background as well as leadership and organizational skills. He joined Verity from BizRate.com where he served as vice president of engineering for the merged eBoodle.com and BizRate.com engineering departments. While at BizRate.com, he led the formation and coordination of the technical advisory board and also developed the engineering and QA processes for efficient product delivery. Prior to BizRate.com, Rudrakshi was a director of research and development for Informix where he managed the delivery of the Red Brick Warehouse and Extended Parallel (XP) Server development. He received the STARS award for his special effort in leading the development of XP for the Japanese market. Previously, Rudrakshi held engineering positions at Consilium and Digital Equipment Corporation. He also founded and managed Electrocrats, a manufacturer and installer of electrical power distribution systems in Pune, India. He holds a M.S. in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, and a B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India.
