Complete Electronic Signature Solution Provided by Cyber-SIGN, Cardiff & Adobe

As The Age Of The Legal Electronic Signature Begins, Cyber-SIGN® & TELEform PDF+Forms™ Combine To Provide A Ready-To-Deploy Solution To The On-Line Electronic Signature Problem

Las Vegas, NV - 2000-11-13 - Cyber-SIGN Inc., the provider of Cyber-SIGN® for Adobe Acrobat, and Cardiff Software Inc., the provider of TELEform PDF+Forms™, today announced a complete electronic signature solution for the digital forms market. The combined solution utilizes the content protection and electronic signature handling features of the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and provides an easy-to-deploy solution that satisfies the newly established federal standards for legal on-line electronic signatures. The new law went into effect on October 1, 2000 and creates federal standards for businesses to accept electronic signatures online.

The Cardiff software products, TELEform with PDF+Forms™, are providing an eForm solution based on the PDF standard allowing users to create, publish and process digital forms quickly and professionally. Adobe and Cardiff teamed in 1999 to develop and deliver the PDF+Forms product to provide robust forms design, data validation and backend connectivity with easy point-and-click creation.

Cyber-SIGN® for Adobe Acrobat is a software plug-in for authentic electronic signatures, a proven biometric signature capture and identity verification engine that provides virtually 100 percent rejection of unauthorized signatures. Cyber-SIGNing is as easy as signing your name.

"There are two problems with the new electronic signature law - identity and accuracy. Both problems are solved when using Cyber-SIGN with PDF+Forms," said Dennis Quiggle, director of marketing for Cyber-SIGN Inc. "The identity problem is solved by using Cyber-SIGN, because an authentic electronic signature identifies a real person - not a machine, password or PIN number. The accuracy problem is solved by Cardiff. Section 101-D of the Global Signatures And Electronic Commerce Act says that an electronically signed record must be 'in a form that is capable of being accurately reproduced for later reference, whether by transmission, printing, or otherwise'. An electronically signed document must be handled in a way that is meaningful when the on-line form becomes a printed piece of paper. Reproduction accuracy of on-line forms is exactly what the PDF+Forms product is designed to do," continued Quiggle.

"Cardiff has seen a rapid adoption of digital forms and electronic signatures throughout the industry in the last 12 months. The federal mandates will further improve the value of conducting business transactions online by defining acceptable electronic signature standards. By incorporating a full version of Adobe Acrobat in PDF+Forms, the user has the convenience of utilizing the electronic signature technologies embraced by Adobe. The Cardiff and Cyber-SIGN alliance will enable users to quickly and effectively implement eForm applications throughout their organization," said Cindy Elliott, director, Corporate Communications with Cardiff.

About Cyber-SIGN Inc.

Cyber-SIGN® is a trusted and natural method for user identity verification, reducing the cost of password maintenance and decreasing the risk of eBusiness fraud. Cyber-SIGN is an authentic electronic signature technology that is available as a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat, as a desktop application to compliment MS-Windows, and as an integration tool for creating new client/server (Cyber-SIGN Enterprise) and local (Cyber-SIGN Personal) applications. Cyber-SIGN is compatible with commercially available enterprise hardware (e.g., digitizing tablets & PDA's). Cyber-SIGN uses a simple interface to existing access, document and transaction software. Cyber-SIGN is marketed worldwide.

When you Cyber-SIGN you identify yourself as a person - not as a password or PIN - to the eBusiness environment and in a natural and authentic way. Cyber-SIGNing is as easy as signing your name. Cyber-SIGN eliminates the easily lost, forgotten, stolen and shared password or PIN, provides safe remote access and enables single sign-on. Identity is securely verified and an authentic electronic signature is created using biometric dynamic signature verification. Shape, speed, stroke order, off-tablet motion, pen pressure and timing information are captured and analyzed during the real-time act of signing the handwritten signature. The captured values are unique to an individual and virtually impossible to duplicate.
