Virage Enables Business 2.0 To Bring Television To The Internet
Award-Winning Media Brand Goes Live with Virage-Enabled Next Step TV Program on Business2.com
SAN MATEO, CA - October 3, 2000 - Virage, Inc. [NASDAQ: VRGE], a leading provider of software products and application services that enable video for the Internet, today announced that Business 2.com, the online platform for the award-winning Business 2.0 brand, has gone "live" with a Virage-enabled version of its Next Step weekly television program. Business 2.0 is using Virage's Application Services to encode, index and publish its video content to the Internet at www.business2.com/media20.
"We're delighted to be working with Virage to bring video to our newly-designed web site," said Robert Spears, chief strategist of Business 2.0 Online. "Their platform allows us to make the most of our television programming, while enhancing our audience's enjoyment of and involvement with Business 2.0. We're pleased to be able to provide our audience of business leaders with a moving, dynamic video library of New Economy business insights and information."
Using the Virage Video Application Platform to publish its video content to the Internet, Business2.com offers viewers a continuously updated and fully searchable database of online video content from the Next Step television series. In the months ahead, the video content base will expand to include Business 2.0 event keynotes, partner events, panels, roundtables, and Business Division announcements, giving visitors a rich online resource of daily information.
Next Step is co-produced by KRON/Bay TV and the online group of Business 2.0, owned by Imagine Media.
