AIDS WALK San Diego Teams Up with Imtran to Automate Registration
Event organizers improve registration form processing
San Diego - 2000-09-25 - Organizing an event is no walk in the park. AIDS WALK San Diego has found a way to make the process easier. In an age where filling out forms is a necessity, organizers of the annual AIDS WALK have automated their registration process with the help of Imtran, a local computer integration firm.
Each year, AIDS WALK San Diego processes thousands of registration forms for their annual 5K and 10K walk and fun-run to improve the quality of life for individuals living with HIV and AIDS in San Diego County. The good news for AIDS WALK is they're anticipating record participation in this year's event. The challenge is the mountain of registration forms could result in weeks of manual data processing. With Imtran's automated forms processing solution, that mountain has turned into a molehill since forms can now be completed automatically in days.
"Imtran is proud to be both providing a solution to AIDS WALK San Diego and to be part of this important event which helps so many people in San Diego County," said Sue Baker, Imtran account executive. "This is a perfect example of how our technology meets real life needs."
Imtran is using Teleform®, data collection software by Vista-based Cardiff, to automate the information capture process of the registration forms allowing AIDS WALK San Diego to more quickly and accurately access the information. This process reduces data entry by 85 percent, freeing up volunteers to perform other tasks.
In 1999, AIDS WALK San Diego had 20,000 participants resulting in $540,000 raised. "This year marks the 11th year of AIDS WALK," said Bob Mozzi, executive director of AIDS WALK San Diego. "Our sponsorship from Imtran has created a remarkable opportunity for our organization. With the extra support of Cardiff's Teleform, we can spend less time on managing administrative tasks and focus more on the goals of our organization rather than the paperwork."
