Cardiff's AudienceOne Personalisation Server Enables Canon Europa to Deliver Online Customer Solutions Guide

Point & click Web interface creates personalised guides to its software in seconds; saving printing and distribution costs

Brentford, Middlesex - 2000-09-07 - Canon Europa has implemented Cardiff Software's AudienceOne Personalisation Server enabling the company to automatically deliver personalised customer solutions guides on its software to customers worldwide over the Internet.

Producing personalised versions of the customer solutions guide in PDF format will have an immediate and obvious bottom line impact due to the cost effectiveness of the integrated web, email and print-on demand delivery.

Previously, Canon printed a 36-page document, which was costly to print and distribute. Considering a typical trade show alone would require over 4,000 copies in two different languages, the cost to Canon was considerable. With the online system, users select the products that they are interested in and immediately receive a high-quality PDF catalogue personalized for them in their native language. In addition, the customer relationship management (CRM) opportunities afforded by the AudienceOne implementation will deliver powerful results including a reduction in customer service requests by almost half.

The system personalises on two levels: creating documents that contain specific pages of product information that are requested by the user and adding variable text and graphics to existing documents. AudienceOne collects requested content from a large library of documents, delivering a new single document, complete with page numbers and a table of contents.

With the Canon's AudienceOne application, a prospect uses their standard Internet browser to visit the Canon web server and uses an online HTML form to provide their information and select the solutions that they would like included in their guide. The AudienceOne server creates the document by combining several PDF templates with the prospect's data to publish a single document with a dynamic table of contents. The Cardiff AudienceOne Personalisation Server is available immediately, starting at £19,000 per server. It includes the AudienceOne Publisher, which converts existing documents created in Word, Quark®, Adobe® InDesign™ or other publishing products into online personalised content.
