Healthology Adopts Virage to Syndicate Health Video on the Internet
Healthology Uses Virage's Internet Video Services and Infrastructure to Give Consumers On-Demand Access to Top Medical Experts
STREAMING MEDIA EAST CONFERENCE, NEW YORK—June 12, 2000 —Virage, Inc., a leading provider of products and application services that enable video for the Internet, today announced that Healthology, Inc., a leading online health media company, is using Virage application services to syndicate award-winning health and medical video content across Healthology's network of online distribution partners. The Virage platform will allow Healthology to distribute the video content created by its extensive faculty of practicing health professionals to the millions of individuals now going online for health information. As part of the agreement, Virage will build an XML data feed (directory) that provides Healthology with a flexible solution to the real-time distribution of data rich media content to syndicated partners. Healthology will also take advantage of the Virage Internet Video Guide™, currently in use as part of RealNetworks' RealPlayer, RealJukebox and Real.com Guide, to drive traffic to the video content.
