Novient Licenses Autonomy's Technology To Enhance Its Eservices™ Psa Solution

SAN FRANCISCO, California - May 30, 2000 - Autonomy Corporation plc. (Nasdaq:AUTN; Easdaq:AUTN) today announced that Novient Inc., a global leader in business-to-business services automation solutions, is licensing Autonomy's concept-based technology to help customers automatically categorize, link, and personalize the delivery of unstructured information found in web pages, email, and documents.

By integrating with the Autonomy Server, Novient services software enables PSOs (Professional Services Organizations) to build and take advantage of a powerful knowledge base that grants immediate and comprehensive access to vital information, documents and best practices across the entire services organization.

By compiling data from all corporate repositories, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange and third-party sources such as Internet sites, this module allows organizations to create a portal that promotes knowledge sharing across geographically dispersed project teams and services communities.

Autonomy's advanced intelligent software technology can identify and rank the main concepts within any piece of text, regardless of its language or format.

It is this unique capability that will automate the categorization, linking, and delivery of personalized information for Novient customers.

"Organizations using Autonomy's concept-matching technology will be able to reduce costs by automating the most time-consuming tasks associated with maintaining a professional services portal," said Russ Caldwell, co-founder and CTO of Novient.

"Our combined offering not only saves Novient's customers time and money, but also enhances productivity by ensuring that vital information is quickly delivered to the right person."

According to Autonomy CEO Mike Lynch, Autonomy's infrastructure technology automates the operations needed to facilitate knowledge sharing among geographically dispersed project teams and services communities. "To stay competitive, services organizations need to have timely access to knowledge and expertise, wherever it resides.

Autonomy's proven technology not only makes internal information (such as e-mail and MS Office documents) or external information (such as the Internet) readily available, but also profiles individuals to make their expertise known to others," said Lynch.

"It is this capability that will allow organizations to optimize the supply and delivery of professional services."
