Virage Extends European Operations with New Office in Munich, Germany
Broadcast and Internet veteran Peter Mai to head up sales operations in Central Europe
NAB 2000 CONVENTION, Las Vegas, NV—April 11, 2000 —Virage Inc., a leading provider of interactive video search products and services, today announced the opening of an office in Munich, Germany as part of its continued expansion in Europe. The Munich office, the latest addition to Virage's global operations, will develop Virage's business throughout Central Europe.
To head up the Virage sales effort in Central Europe, Virage has appointed Peter Mai as Sales Manager. Mai brings over eight years of broadcast and Internet experience with specific expertise in establishing media and Internet businesses in Central Europe. Mai most recently headed up Central European sales for Internolix AG, an Internet shopping organisation in Germany, and spent eight years contributing to the growth and development of Avid Europe, having joined as employee number three in Germany.
