SUNNYVALE, CA. - 2000-02-17 - Verity, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise and Internet knowledge retrieval solutions, today announced that it has appointed a new UK managing director, Simon Atkinson. Atkinson will spearhead all aspects of Verity's operations in the UK and lead software sales, marketing, consultancy services and technical support.
Atkinson joins Verity from MERANT, a leading supplier of enterprise application development solutions, where he held the position of UK country manager for the Application Development Management business unit. While at MERANT Atkinson used his strong IT sales knowledge to drive sales of configuration management solutions throughout the UK and Ireland. Prior to this Atkinson was recruited by INTERSOLV, later to become MERANT, to lead the development and management of the year 2000 sales stream. While at INTERSOLV, Atkinson also managed key accounts and was field and telesales manager for the finance sector before becoming UK manager.
