Andrew Langhoff, Former Disney Executive, Joins Virage

ABC/ESPN Internet Veteran Named Vice President of Business Development

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana —January 26, 2000—NATPE—Virage Inc., a leading provider of interactive video search products and application services, today announced the appointment of Andrew Langhoff as Vice President of Business Development. The announcement was made at NATPE today.

Langhoff comes to Virage from the Walt Disney Company, where he was responsible for developing the Internet and broadband strategies for various Disney Internet holdings. Working from Virage's New York offices, Langhoff will oversee the development of new business opportunities and partnerships focused on broadband content syndication and distribution.

"Virage's technology solutions will have a special role in the emerging broadband/video infrastructure," said Langhoff. "The company's seasoned management team has established Virage as a clear leader in its field. Virage is well positioned to leverage its core technologies to provide rich programming and distribution opportunities for video content owners. I look forward to joining the team at Virage."

Langhoff has spent the last four years developing Internet products for ABC and ESPN, most recently as Vice President of Broadband Development for Go.com, the Walt Disney Company's Internet vehicle. In this position, Langhoff was responsible for leading a select team dedicated solely to the emerging business, technology and content issues raised by broadband programming.

"Content providers, such as broadcasters and media companies, must deal with a number of unique issues related to licensing and ownership," said Paul Lego, CEO of Virage. "Having already faced all of these issues in his prior role at Disney, Andrew has a perfect background to help us understand and build positive relationships with these critical Virage partners. We are thrilled to have him on board."

Prior to heading up broadband development, the Disney veteran held positions as vice president of business development for the Buena Vista Internet Group and ABCNEWS Internet Ventures. In these roles, he oversaw business development activities, including the negotiation of distribution, content and commerce partnerships for ABCNEWS.com, ABC.com, ESPN.com, Family.com, Oprah.com and Oscar.com. As vice president of ABC's Multimedia Group, Langhoff was also responsible for all business aspects of ABC's initial online programming, including multi-million dollar distribution arrangements with America Online.

Prior to his tenure at Disney, Langhoff was in-house counsel at Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. He started his career with the New York City law firm of White & Case. Langhoff holds a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia Law School, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University.
