Global Insurance and Financial Management Leader Offers Customers Access to Key Information Using Verity
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 1999-05-24 - Verity, Inc. Prudential's innovative Internet site, which relies on Verity's robust indexing, searching and retrieval technology, serves as an outbound communication tool, channeling valuable product and services information to the companys individual and institutional existing and prospective customers.
Customers visiting http://www.prudential.com today can use Verity's technology to search and retrieve information about Prudential's traditional strengths (insurance and investments), as well as information about its growing services in banking and real estate. With Verity's technology, Prudential Web site users can also obtain relevance rankings for particular queries in order to locate relevant information more quickly.

Prudential selected Verity's Information Server product for its ease of use, and also because it provided an automated way for administrators to organize, build and centrally maintain indices of documents stored on Web and file servers. With Information Server, Prudential enables retrospective search and ad hoc queries of any Verity collection, as well as one-button domain indexing which can instantly turn an existing Prudential Web site or file system into a searchable Verity collection. Prudential administrators are using a companion product, Verity Spider, to search and index Web sites and file systems, extending the reach of their knowledge retrieval engine by indexing multiple domains such as Prudential's brokerage site, http://www.prusec.com, and gaining even greater control over what is indexed.
