WebWare MAMBO Announces a Comprehensive Video Asset Management Solution Providing Tight Integration with Virage VideoLogger
NAB '99--Las Vegas, Nevada--April 19, 1999--WebWare Corporation, (www.WebWareCorp.com) the market leader in the design and deployment of web-based digital asset management solutions announces today its robust support for both broadcast quality and lower resolution video. WebWare and Virage will demonstrate the MAMBO/VideoLogger solution at the National Association of Broadcaster's (NAB) Convention in Las Vegas, April 19-22 at the Sands Expo Center in Virage's Booth #S1531.
"We have been working strategically with Virage for some time," said WebWare's founder and CEO, Lauren Flanagan. "The MAMBO™ Video PlugIn™ represents the first in a series of initiatives we have underway that provide outstanding solutions to the video and audio asset management issues facing many broadcasters and media production organizations." The new MAMBO Video PlugIn takes the video index created by Virage's VideoLogger and saves it into MAMBO. Once there, organizations can search, catalog and stream individual video clips at a variety of resolutions and frame rates. Organizations benefit from MAMBO's sophisticated user and group security, comprehensive transaction logging, and highly scaleable architecture. For the first time users have the ability to manage text, bitmap images, vector illustrations, 3D models, audio and video from a single intuitive browser-based interface.
"The combination of WebWare and Virage technologies erases the physical distance between an organization's archive libraries, production studios and news automation systems," said Paul Lego, Chief Executive Officer of Virage. "The Virage VideoLogger delivers searchable video to the desktop level. Our integration with MAMBO allows the production, management and re-use of video to be easily distributed throughout the enterprise." All MAMBO products are based on the same three-tier object-oriented architecture, and incorporate industry-leading features, such as, on-the-fly file transformations, automated version control, asset uniqueness checking, and sophisticated support for compound document formats such as QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe FrameMaker, and Acrobat PDF. Both products are available on a variety of UNIX and Windows NT platforms, and every function can be accessed from any 4.x web-browser.
