Insight Technologies and Autonomy in European first licensing deal
First document management company to launch KM solution based on Autonomy technology
Farnham, Surrey, 29th September 1998: Insight Technologies has launched a cutting edge knowledge management solution after signing Europe's first OEM licensing agreement with Autonomy for its Agentware technology. This agreement has enabled Insight Technologies to become the first document management company to launch an enterprise wide knowledge management system based around Autonomy's technology which allows for the automated handling of corporate knowledge.
Insight Technologies is launching its new KM solution - Knowledge Insight - in October '98 after signing the OEM licensing agreement with Autonomy in June.
By fully utilising Autonomy's Agentware technology ahead of other document management companies, it has a significant lead over rivals developing knowledge management solutions. Also, because of Insight's considerable experience of large scale enterprise wide applications, Knowledge Insight has been developed to meet the particular knowledge management requirements of large corporations.
"The agreement provides an ideal technology match for the two companies. Autonomy's Agentware technology is unrivalled and Insight has extensive experience and expertise in developing high level, enterprise wide document management solutions. Insight has used Autonomy's technology at the heart of its KM solution to enhance the core KM features of its Knowledge Insight product, which we see as essential to the corporate marketplace," comments David Phillips, CEO of Insight Technologies.
Richard Gaunt, co-founder and technical director, Autonomy, said, "The enormous increase in the amount of information companies now have to deal with, has lead to the requirement for applications that can automate the handling of this unstructured data. Insight is the first document management company that Autonomy has signed an OEM deal with. We value the relationship with Insight because their advanced solutions and expertise adds significant value to the knowledge management marketplace. By using Agentware technology, Insight's new solution will go a long way to help turn the Knowledge Management vision into a corporate reality."
Insight Technologies' new Knowledge Insight system is available from October 1998, with pricing as low as £50.00 per seat, dependent upon volume and environment - such as whether a document management solution is required. Knowledge Insight also integrates with rival vendors' DM systems.
