Autonomy And TIBCO Announce Strategic Partnership Relationship to Provide Intelligent Personalized Communication Infrastructure Internet Showcase
April 28, 1997 - San Diego, CA. Autonomy, Inc., the leader in delivering personalized content based on dynamic reasoning, and TIBCO, a communications tools provider, today announced a strategic co-marketing and development agreement to create the industry's most scaleable intelligent Internet information delivery systems. The addition of Autonomy's powerful intelligent personalization technology will allow TIBCO customers to build high-performance customized information systems by dynamically matching patterns of in-bound content with individual user interests.
Under the terms of the agreement, Autonomy will integrate support for TIBCO's TIB publish/subscribe software with its Agentware i3 Server™ product line. TIBCO will integrate Autonomy's Agentware i3 (intelligent information infrastructure) technology in its end-to-end solutions for markets requiring intelligent subject-based information distribution to end-users. The range of additional solutions will be extended as Autonomy and TIBCO explore future product integration and joint business development opportunities.
"Users want to receive truly intelligent, personalized information and they want it in the most efficient way possible," said Marc Bowles, chief technical officer at TIBCO. "The powerful combination of Autonomy's personalization capabilities and TIBCO's messaging middleware offer unprecedented scaleable personalized content delivery, and therefore significant benefits to our customers."
With the Internet's exponential growth over the last few years, users are starting to suffer from information overload. As a result, the information distribution model has evolved from "search" to "push," and now to "delivery." Delivery is about providing personalized relevant content to the individual. This relationship allows Autonomy and TIBCO to address the need for personalized delivery of information by providing highly relevant and useful information on a powerful communications platform of software tools for designing, developing, operating and maintaining information systems.
"Users are inundated with too much irrelevant information on the Internet," said Dr. Michael Lynch, Autonomy's CEO. "Autonomy's Agentware personalized information solutions utilize Neural Network based Intelligent Agents to dynamically understand user preferences which allow service providers to deliver relevant information. This relationship is part of Autonomy's corporate roadmap to leverage key partner relationships to offer customers the best solutions."
