Unstructured Content
Autonomy is perhaps best known for its next-generation analysis of unstructured content. Autonomy's technology is fundamentally predicated on a mathematical model and built upon the seminal works of Thomas Bayes and Claude Shannon. It therefore is not limited by the nuances of language. Buttressed by innovations that include 170 patents, IDOL identifies the patterns that naturally occur in text, video or voice files based on the usage and frequency of terms that correspond to specific concepts. By studying the preponderance of one pattern over another, IDOL can gauge the probability that the content in question deals with a specific subject.
Autonomy sees search as not merely looking for a word, but looking for an idea. Therefore, although Autonomy embraces traditional or legacy methods such as keyword, Boolean, parametric and others in developing its search strategy, it relies on conceptual search based on computational pattern recognition (non-linear adaptive digital signal processing) and contextual linguistic analysis to deliver the most relevant results.
In addition to search, over 500 advanced functions can be performed on unstructured content (as well as other content formats), including automatic categorization, sentiment analysis, clustering, deep video indexing, and speech analytics.
