Device-Specific Answers

There is nothing more frustrating than getting the answer you need in an unreadable or useless form. Frequently, the documents returned from a query are in rich formats, that fail to display correctly or take an unfeasibly long time to download on mobile devices. In addition, security preferences may change depending on the type or location of the device, as information taken beyond the enterprise firewall and out into the field is vulnerable to being misplaced or stolen.

With Device-Specific Answers, IDOL delivers information in a format specifically tailored to the device being used, converting rich formats to plain text, or streaming audio and video files at lower resolutions to allow immediate reception. IDOL offers the ability to configure security preferences so that access to information on mobile devices is controlled independently from information available within the office. This ensures secure, 24/7 availability of critical information through the same advanced functions used in the office, anywhere in the world.

"Until now, finding segments or comments within a particular video or audio file has been time-consuming and often fraught with error. After an extensive evaluation of the available technologies in the market, we found that IDOL is the only solution that can provide VMS with the most advanced search capabilities, so our service representatives can evaluate the media coverage, messaging, competitors and markets of our clients with greater precision and at a fraction of the time as alternative technologies. The Autonomy product's architecture is also the most scalable that we have seen in the market."
Gerry Louw, VMS Chief Information Officer, 2007
