The Ford Learning Network Video Case Study

The motor industry is under global pressure to improve productivity and business performance. Manufacturers are becoming highly focused on making operations as lean and efficient as they can. As the Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) approaches its 100th anniversary it has recognized from experience that its people are its most valuable asset. As the world's second largest automotive company, with brands including Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury and Volvo, the Ford Motor Company operates in 125 countries over 6 continents. With a vast, varied and distributed workforce, the challenge for Ford in achieving a lean and efficient strategic model was how to maximize employee effectiveness, without incurring significant cost.

Ford selected Autonomy for FLN because the implementation of Autonomy's infrastructure software negates the need for either a physical library or for additional people to be hired to catalog a virtual one. Autonomy's intuitive approach, analyzing patterns and identifying concepts within information, enables speed and accuracy of information retrieval, which cuts hassle, reduces frustration and is rapidly becoming habit forming among users.
