The Meaning of Success
Autonomy continues to deliver outstanding results across the board, with record revenue and profits driven by strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions. At the end of 2005, Autonomy successfully completed the sector defining acquisition of its largest rival Verity, and during 2007 the company acquired ZANTAZ, a global leader in content archiving and electronic discovery solutions, to create the only provider of full spectrum proactive IRM solutions in the world. Full year 2007 results broke all company records and following outstanding Q1 2008 results, the company looks set to continue this trend into the coming year.
2007 was also a transformational year for Autonomy's markets driven by the fundamental movement of the IT world to the usage of unstructured information, and the secondary drivers of regulatory changes such as the US Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) which have stimulated a convergence of legal and operational information systems. The elevation of unstructured information issues to prime-time status also drove growth in the OEM business, where Autonomy remains the de facto standard: 54 OEM deals were signed in 2007 alone.
