Overview
Are you an undergraduate looking for a challenge over the summer vacation?
Our popular summer internship placements last for between 8 and 12 weeks every year. The positions are based in different world-wide locations and some receive a generous salary package. Successful candidates will work alongside members of our team learning how an international software company functions, as well as accumulate a variety of skills.
Past interns have helped to produce important new products that are being used in dozens of blue-chip companies and websites around the world. Examples include the development of new search and filtering techniques, the creation of new User Interfaces and Software Libraries, and various techniques for testing key products prior to release.
For many applicants, an internship with Autonomy marks the beginning of a very rewarding journey within the Autonomy group.
UK Internships
Location: Cambridge
Are you a UK undergraduate looking for a challenge over the summer vacation?

Successful candidates will work alongside members of our research and development team in developing new algorithms and products. During their time with us, they will learn about how an international software company functions, as well as accumulate a variety of technical skills.

Examples include the development of new search and filtering techniques, the creation of new User Interfaces and Software Libraries, and various techniques for testing key products prior to release.
Requirements:
Penultimate year undergraduates studying a technical or scientific subject at a top university.
Key Skills:
The ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as part of a team to the highest level.
Prior Experience of programming in a Windows or UNIX environment, or a basic knowledge of C or Java, is an advantage, but is not required.
Belfast – Work Placement
Location: Belfast
Every academic year, we offer unique placement opportunities to work as Software Developers and Quality Assurance Engineers at our Belfast engineering centre. ring a 12 to 15 month placement contract, you will work with some of the industry's best minds and be exposed to the full range of Autonomy's technologies.
We view the placement period as an ideal opportunity to identify future permanent employees and a very high percentage of our recent graduate recruitment for the Belfast office has been from previous placement students. Spending your placement year with us could be the start of a very rewarding journey within the Autonomy group.
Requirements:
An excellent academic record from your first two years of study.
Key Skills:
As a Software Developer, you will be using technologies such as C#, .NET, C++, ASPX, Sharepoint and XML.
As a QA Engineer, you will be playing a significant part in delivering product releases on time, in budget and to defined quality standards. The role requires a great attention for detail in order to work according to set standards in a structured, output focused way.
